Job Developer for IDD

The Arc Carroll County is looking for a full-time, team-oriented Job Developer to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities find and maintain employment.

JOB DEVELOPER
Essential Functions:
1.
Initiates and maintains positive working relationships with a variety of businesses throughout the community.
Focus on relationship building, job carving, and job matching ensuring that job match is a good fit for all.
2.
Assists on outreach programs with the public, Division of Rehabilitation Services, and Carroll County Public Schools regarding inclusion, transition, and disability-related topics.
3.
Assists and trains in job seeking, resume writing, application completion, and interviewing strategies.
4.
Develops partnerships with area businesses for year-round employment, job shadowing, and job sampling opportunities.
5.
Provides onsite support with interviews, orientation, initial job training, intensive support, and fading and continued coaching.
6.
Participates in individual job development, on-the-job-training (OJT), and job coaching at employment sites.
7.
Assists with designing natural supports.
(Natural supports are personal associations developed in the community).
8.
Provides instruction to adults regarding successful work behavior, appearance, and employer interaction.
9.
Provides instruction on travel training and how to access public transit.
10.
Attends transition-focused meetings and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as needed or directed.
All other duties as assigned.
1.
Associate degree in related field and at least one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
One year of job development experience2.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel.
3.
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
4.
Completion of CPR, First Aid, and other Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) and Arc required training with application of learned principles and skills to the job.
5.
Valid driver's license with no more than 2 current points on record.
6.
Clean drug screen and criminal record (The Arc provides programs, services, and direct care to vulnerable adults).
7.
Sales experience a plus8.
Ability to flex hours as needed to provide support for job seekers or employees.
JOB DEVELOPER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1.
Ability to lift/manipulate at least 50 pounds frequently with ability tolift, carry and/or exert force in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally.
2.
Ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing and frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, and pushing required:
Including lifting a wheelchair and repositioning an individual.
3.
Ability to transfer individual from a chair to vehicle, bed to chair.
Ability to position individual on a sling or Hoyer lift.
Ability to physically secure individual in a wheelchair to the van with tie-downs.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
